Victoria Cowan
Founder & Director

A people person in the truest sense, Victoria has the uncanny ability to bring energy, intention, and insight to every interaction. Combined with 10+ years of multidisciplinary writing experience, her infectious presence has helped quickly propel Wordplay Creative into the orbit of multi-national corporations and creative agencies across the globe.

Victoria’s professional writing career began as an Honours English student at the University of Saskatchewan. Her dedication to peer mentorship, community-engaged learning, and interdisciplinary research helped her become the province’s first ever recipient of the prestigious 3M National Student Fellowship. Bolstered by this momentum and a SSHRC grant from the Government of Canada, she relocated to Vancouver, BC to complete her Master’s in English at the University of British Columbia, one of the world’s top English departments.

A huge proponent of non-linear career paths, Victoria’s career includes a tapestry of management and tech roles with companies like Shopify, Lush Cosmetics, and more. She attributes these environments to fostering her interest in branding and marketing.

Since founding Wordplay Creative in 2020, her writing has been trusted by The Kraft Heinz Company, Vendasta, Scribd, and more. In addition, she has worked closely with numerous creative agencies, tech companies, and professional service providers, who consistently praise her abilities to interpret and distill complex material into approachable and engaging written content.

When Victoria is not at the helm of Wordplay Creative, she can be found cuddling with her Wheaten Terrier, binging Netflix, or talking about her identical twin.

Anthony Cenerini
Operations & Development

Anthony is a multi-disciplinary creative professional and entrepreneur who excels at the intersection of business operations, sales, and people management.

Prior to signing on as co-director in 2022, Anthony provided foundational support to Wordplay as a trusted advisor and business consultant. In a copywriting capacity, his precise work has been featured by a variety of automotive, technology, and business leaders in Canada, including Dilawri Group of Companies, Mercedes-Benz Vancouver, The Peak Media, and Attendease.

Anthony’s business acumen comes from 10+ years of developing and running his own businesses. Simultaneous to supporting Wordplay, he owns and operates a professional commercial recording and music production studio. His experience mentoring and advancing emerging musical talent reflects his acute understanding of marketing, branding, and positioning.

When he isn’t improving Wordplay behind the scenes or nurturing creative projects in the studio, Anthony can be found behind the drum kit as a founding member of the two-piece rock band BIG FUZZ. He’s also a proud dog dad and die-hard Winnipeg Jets fan.
